Watersports - Kayaking, Rafting,
Wetsuit or Drysuit Diving

** Estancia Tunel ** Isla de Los Lobos ** Islas Bridges **
** Iturrieta ** Puerto Cucharita ** Isla Redonda ** Bahia Ensenada ** Isla Estorbo **

Extreme!
The best time to dive is during the skiing season. The colder the waters the clearer the visibility. This is an unforgettable experience diving around the coasts and islands of the Beagle Channel. You swim amongst the giant kelp, visit great shipwrecks and dive with the jellyfish, king crabs and so much more. You definitely need to Dry Suit Dive here! Most of the dive sites are near Ushuaia and are reached by car or boat. If you prefer you can raft in Iguazu or Kayak on one of the many lakes in the country. Contact us if you want to know more.

Estancia Tunel
Estancia Tunel means Tunnel Farm. Tunel is an old farm, located on the southern coast of Tierra del Fuego, about a 30 minutes boat trip east from Ushuaia. The now abandoned house is on a small bay, with a pebble beach in front of it. This bay is surrounded by rocks and used as shelter for the diving boat. We dive a wall that goes to 10m (30ft), plateaus out and then continues deeper to about 23m (75feet). There is a beautiful kelp forest and lots of macro creatures on the rocks. Sealions frequently visit the place.
diving1 diving2 diving3 Puerto Cucharita
Puerto Cucharita means Little Spoon Harbour. This is a small bay next to the National Park, very well protected from the winds. It is a stepped wall, that forms plateaus covered by kelp. Diving is like swimming through green tunnels. The maximum depths goes to 35m (115ft). Access is only by boat from Bahia Ensenada, after a 20 minute boat trip.
Isla Redonda
Isla Redonda means the Round Island. This small island is located in the heart of the Beagle Channel, in front of the Tierra del Fuego National Park. After arriving at Bahia Ensenada, you board a small boat that takes us to the island. Here you find a small base for the Prefectura acional (Coast Guard), and the Worlds End Post Office! The island is surrounded by deep walls that go to 27 meters (88 feet.) There is a dense kelp forest with the typical channel fauna and sometimes sealions will come and join you, curious about what you are doing.

Isla de Los Lobos
Isla de Los Lobos means Sea Lion Island This is next to Les Eclaireurs lighthouse and about a 1 hour boat ride from Ushuaia. The island is surrounded by a huge kelp forest, where diving is done. Sometimes some of these playful animals approach, making the dive an unforgettable experience. The depth around the island is about 23m (75ft).
Isla Estorbo
Isla Estorbo means Hindrance Island. This is a small island next to Puerto Cucharita and Isla Redonda. Diving is done in the northeastern part of the island, in a shallow wall that goes no deeper than 12m (40feet) in a progressive slope. There is lots of kelp, small fish and octopuses (especially at night). Access is the same as Isla Redonda.
diving4 diving5 Islas Bridges
Islas Bridges means Bridges Islands. This is a group of four islands, located no more than 20 minutes from Ushuaia. They form an outstanding natural harbour that offers protection against the strong winds of the channel. This is the favourite place to go with novices. Depth varies between 10m (30ft) and 14m (46ft).

Weather conditions
In the winter the sea is clearer and colder! It is clear because it is cold, and it is about 2-4 degrees C (36-40F). The wind direction can change several times during the day, so dive locations are planned upon wind speed and directions along with currents.

Equipment
Dry suits and all diving equipment can be provided, although divers are welcome to bring their own. Equipment includes US Divers regulators and octopus adn complete consoles with depth meters, manometers and compasses. The boat used is comfortable for up to 6 guests and 2 crew.

Diving Trips
Each trip usually includes two dives and a couple of visits to outlying islands.
